Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Brig-Gen Maung Maung Thein

Nineteen days after the devastation of Cyclone Nargis, Maung Maung Thein finally arrived at Bogalay, Irrawady, and held a special meeting with the local fishermen. He told them that because of the severe damage caused by the cyclone in the area, he would do his best to help and support them. He then urged the fishermen to apply for fishing rights.

However, when the fishing permits were announced on 7th of this month, none of the local fishermen's name was mentioned! The list contained ONLY people who are connected with either the Military or government authorities.

သို ့ရာတြင္ ယခုလ ၇ရက္ေန ့က ငါးဖမ္းခြင့္လိုင္စင္မ်ားခ်ေပးရာတြင္ စစ္တပ္နွင့္အာဏာပိုင္ အသိုင္းအဝိုင္းနွင့္ ပါတ္သက္ နီးစပ္သူမ်ား သာရရိွျပီး ေဒသခံေရလုပ္ငန္းရွင္မ်ားမရႀကပါ။

ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ဝန္ ဗိုလ္မႉးခ်ဳပ္ေအာင္သိန္းလင္းသည္ အမ်ားျပည္သူထံမွ ေကာက္ခံထားသည့္ ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္ စည္ပင္သာယာေရးအဖဲြ႔ပိုင္ ေငြမ်ားျဖင့္ ႀကံ့ဖြံ႔အတြက္ မဲဆြယ္စည္း႐ံုးမႈမ်ား လုပ္ေနေၾကာင္း သိရသည္။



It is reported that Brig-Gen Aung Thein Linn, The Mayor of Yangon has been campaigning for USDA (union solidarity and development association) using the municipal money, collected from the local residents.
