ဧရာ၀တီတိုင္း၊ ပုသိမ္ၿမိဳ႕တြင္ ရယကအဖြဲ႔၀င္မ်ား၏ ႐ိုက္ႏွက္မႈေၾကာင့္ ေသဆုံးသြားသူအမႈတြင္ တာ၀န္ရွိသူမ်ားက အဆုိပါအမႈမွ ေရွာင္လႊဲကာ ရာအိမ္မွဴးတဦးအား လူသတ္မႈျဖင့္ တရားစြဲဆိုထားသည္။

ၿပီးခဲ့သည့္ ဇူလုိင္လ (၁၉) ရက္ေန႔တြင္ ပုသိမ္ၿမိဳ႕၊ စိန္ကုန္း တိုးခ်ဲ႕ရပ္ကြက္အမွတ္ (၉) တြင္ ေနထိုင္သူ ကိုေအာင္ႏိုင္ထြန္းသည္ ရယက႐ုံးတြင္ ႐ိုက္ႏွက္စစ္ေဆးခံရၿပီး ေသဆုံးခဲ့ရသည္။

အဆုိပါ (၁၉) ရက္ေန႔က သံတိုသံစမ်ား ရွာေဖြေနသည့္ ေသဆုံးသူ ကိုေအာင္ႏိုင္ထြန္းတုိ႔ စက္ေလွသည္ စက္ပ်က္ခဲ့ၿပီးေနာက္ ကမ္းနားသို႔ ဆုိက္ကပ္ခဲ့ရာ အထက္အမိန္႔ျဖင့္ ေဗဒါအမႈိက္မ်ား ဆယ္ယူေနသည့္ ရယကအဖြဲ႔၀င္မ်ားႏွင့္ စတင္အခ်င္းမ်ားရာမွ ရယက႐ုံးသို႔ ဖမ္းဆီးေခၚေဆာင္ျခင္းခံရသည္။

ရယက႐ုံးသို႔ေရာက္ရွိၿပီး ရယကဥကၠဌႏွင့္ အဖြဲ႔၀င္မ်ားက ၎တို႔အား ဒဏ္ေငြအျဖစ္ ေငြက်ပ္ ၆,၀၀၀ ေတာင္း ရမ္းခဲ့သျဖင့္ အေဖာ္ျဖစ္သူ ကိုတင္ထြန္းလြင္မွာ ေငြေၾကးအား ေနာက္တေန႔နံနက္တြင္ ရယက႐ုံးသို႔ သြားေပးရာတြင္ ကိုေအာင္ႏိုင္ထြန္းအား ျပန္လည္လႊတ္ေပးလုိက္သည္ဟု ႐ုံးတာ၀န္ရွိသူမ်ားက ေျပာဆိုခဲ့သည္။


ဖမ္းဆီးခ်ဳပ္ေႏွာင္ခံထားရသူ ကိုေအာင္ႏုိင္ထြန္း အိမ္သို႔ ျပန္မေရာက္လာသျဖင့္ ရပ္ကြက္ေနသူမ်ားႏွင့္ မိသားစုမ်ားက လုိက္လံရွာေဖြခဲ့ရာ ေနာက္တေန႔ (၂၁) ရက္ေန႔တြင္ အမွတ္ (၁) ရပ္ကြက္ရွိ ေရခဲစက္ႏွင့္ ဆားစက္အၾကားတြင္ ဦးေခါင္းတြင္ ျပင္းထန္သည့္ဒဏ္ရာျဖင့္ ေသဆုံးေနသည္ကို ေတြ႔ရွိခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။

ယင္းေနာက္ မိသားစု၀င္မ်ားက အဆုိပါအမႈအား အဆင့္ဆင့္ တိုင္ၾကားအမႈဖြင့္ခဲ့ရာ သက္ဆိုင္ရာ ရယကအာဏာပုိင္မ်ားက အခ်င္းမ်ားခ်ိန္တြင္ စတင္ခဲ့သူ ရပ္ကြက္ရာအိမ္မွဴး ကိုထြန္းထြန္းအေပၚ ျပစ္မႈအားလုံးပုံခ်ကာ ယခုကဲ့သို႔ တရားစြဲဆိုခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။

“ကိုထြန္းထြန္းနဲ႔ စျဖစ္တာကို ပုံႀကီးခ်ဲ႕ၿပီးေတာ့ ဆင္လိုက္တဲ့သေဘာ၊ မနက္ဘက္ျဖစ္ၿပီးကတည္းက ကိုထြန္းထြန္းက ႐ုံးကိုမသြားေတာ့ဘူး၊ ညဘက္က်ေတာ့ သူက စက္ဘီးနဲ႔ထြက္တယ္၊ သူတုိ႔ ညေနက ႐ုံးကိုေခၚသြားတဲ့လူက ေသလားရွင္လားမသိဘူး” ဟု ကိုထြန္းထြန္းႏွင့္ရင္းႏွီးသူ ေဒသခံက ဆိုသည္။

ယခုအခါ ကိုထြန္းထြန္းသည္ ပုသိမ္အက်ဥ္းေထာင္တြင္ အက်ဥ္းက်ခံေနရၿပီး ရပ္ကြက္ေနသူမ်ားက မတရားစြပ္စြဲခဲ့သည့္ လုပ္ရပ္အား မေက်နပ္၍ အဆင့္ဆင့္ တိုင္ၾကားမႈမ်ားျပဳလုပ္ရာ အာဏာပုိင္မ်ားက အဆုိပါရပ္ကြက္ ရယကအဖြဲ႕၀င္ သုံးဦးအား ထပ္မံဖမ္းဆီးခဲ့သည္ဟု ၎က ဆက္လက္ေျပာဆိုသည္။

ဆက္လက္ဖမ္းဆီးခံထားရသည့္ ရယကအဖြဲ႔၀င္မ်ားမွာ ဦးလွျမင့္၊ ဦးလွၿမိဳင္၊ ဖိုးလျပည့္တို႔ျဖစ္ၿပီး ယခုလ (၁၀) ရက္ေန႔ထုတ္ မႈခင္းဂ်ာနယ္တြင္ ကိုထြန္းထြန္းအား အဓိက လူသတ္တရားခံအျဖစ္ ေဖာ္ျပထားသည္ဟု ေဒသခံတဦးက ေျပာသည္။

"အတြင္းေရးမွဴးတို႔ ဥကၠဌတို႔ လုပ္တဲ့သူေတြက သူတို႔ အဓိကလုပ္တာ၊ ႐ိုက္ဖို႔ သူတို႔အမိန္႔ေပးတယ္၊ ခု ကိုထြန္းထြန္းကိုယ္တိုင္လည္း ကမ္းနားမွာ စျဖစ္တုန္းက ပါး႐ိုက္တာေတြ ရွိတယ္၊ အခုျဖစ္စဥ္မွာက အတြင္းေရးမွဴးေတြက ၀ိတ္အား၊ ေငြအားနဲ႔ ေဘးဖယ္ထြက္ေနၿပီး ရာအိမ္မွဴး ကုိထြန္းထြန္းကို အမႈအကုန္လုံး ပုံခ်ထားတယ္” ဟု ေဒသခံက ေျပာသည္။

၄င္းတို႔အားလုံးအား ပုဒ္မ ၃၀၂၊ ၃၄၁၊ ၂၁၀/၁၀၉ တုိ႔ျဖင့္ တရားစြဲဆိုထားျခင္းျဖစ္ၿပီး အဓိက အမိန္႔ေပးခဲ့သည့္ ရပ္ကြက္(ရယက)ဥကၠဌ၊ အတြင္းေရးမွဴးႏွင့္ ေကာ္မတီ၀င္မ်ားကို အေရးယူျခင္းမရွိေၾကာင္း ၎က ဆက္လက္ေျပာဆိုသည္။

ယင္းေနာက္ ဖမ္းဆီးခံထားရသူ ကိုထြန္းထြန္း၏ သမီးျဖစ္သူက မေက်နပ္သျဖင့္ ခ႐ိုင္(ခယက)႐ုံးအပါအ၀င္ အျခားဌာနမ်ားသို႔ တုိင္ၾကားစာ ၁၀ ေစာင္ ေပးပို႔ခဲ့သျဖင့္ ခယက႐ုံးမွ ဇနီးႏွင့္ သမီးျဖစ္သူအား ေခၚယူေမးျမန္းမႈမ်ား ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့သည္။

လူသတ္မႈတြင္ ပါ၀င္ပတ္သက္ျခင္းမရွိျခင္းကို သိရွိသည့္ ရပ္ကြက္ေနသူမ်ားက ၎၏မိသားစုအား အစစအရာရာ ကူညီေပးခဲ့သည့္အျပင္ အမႈရင္ဆိုင္ရာတြင္ ေရွ႕ေနငွားရမ္းစရိတ္ကိုပါ ၀ိုင္း၀န္းထည့္၀င္ခဲ့ၾကဟု သိရသည္။

”ေရွ႕ေနခ က်မတို႔က အကုန္အက်မခံႏိုင္ဘူး၊ ရပ္ကြက္က ေထာက္ပံ့တာပါ၊ က်မတို႔က ဘာမွမရွိဘူး၊ ဆင္းရဲတယ္၊ ရပ္ကြက္က အကုန္လုိက္လုပ္ေပးေနတာ၊ မဟုတ္ဘဲနဲ႔ ခံေနရတာကို ရပ္ကြက္က မၾကည့္ရက္လုိ႔ အားလုံးလိုက္လုပ္ေပးေနတာ၊ က်မတို႔ကလည္း အသနားခံစာ တင္ထားတယ္ေလ” ဟု အက်ဥ္းက်ခံေနရသူ ကိုထြန္းထြန္း၏ဇနီးက ေျပာသည္။

ကိုေအာင္ႏိုင္ထြန္း ေသဆုံးသြားသည့္ အမႈႏွင့္ပတ္သက္၍ ယခုလ (၂၈) ရက္ေန႔တြင္လည္း ႐ုံးခ်ိန္းရွိၿပီး ၿပီးခဲ့သည့္လ (၂၁) ရက္ႏွင့္ (၂၈) ရက္ေန႔တြင္လည္း အမႈစစ္ေဆးမႈမ်ား ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့သည္ဟု ဇနီးျဖစ္သူက ဆက္လက္ေျပာဆိုသည္။

ယခု ပုသိမ္အက်ဥ္းေထာင္တြင္ အက်ဥ္းက်ခံေနရသူ ကိုထြန္းထြန္းသည္ မိသားစုဝင္ ၃ ဦးႏွင့္အတူ ပုုသိမ္ၿမိဳ႕ သစ္ညိဳကုန္း အမွတ္ (၁) ရပ္ကြက္တြင္ ေနထိုင္သူျဖစ္သည္။

Counter people with people: Home Minister Maj. Gen. Maung Oo

Chiang Mai (Mizzima) – The Home Minister of the Burmese military junta had at a point of time exhorted the staff members of the General Administration Department at a meeting to ‘counter people with people and counter politics with politics’.

In the Home Ministry’s directive, a copy of which has been leaked and is with Mizzima, the Home Minister Maj. Gen. Maung Oo had given such a blatant instruction to officials of the General Administration (GA) Department at a meeting in Naypyitaw Home Ministry’s Meeting Hall on 20 January 2007.

“Counter people with people, counter politics with politics. There is no need to get involved personally. Do it carefully and do it daringly,” he had directed.

In the six-page directive, he had instructed organizing of NGOs so as to be pro-government, to mobilze people, not to confront the army, to go in for fund raising for the welfare of the Home Ministry staff members and to monitor the activities of the ‘National League for Democracy’ (NLD).

Moreover Maj. Gen. Maung Oo had also said that the staff of the Home Ministry should use their power for their livelihood instead of begging.

“Regarding smuggling, arrest them. Report to the authorities, anything you seize from them, either a car or a motorcycle. Surrender them to the customs department. You will get 50 per cent reward money from these goods. So you don’t need to beg, but arrest them for your living,” the directive says.

He had also talked of the junta’s plan of holding mass rallies against the opposition forces in late 2007 to senior officials in the GA Department across the country.

Following the saffron revolution in September 2007, protest rallies were organized by the junta backed civilian organisation - ‘Union Solidarity and Development Association’ - in some States and Divisions across the country.

The meeting presided by the Maung Oo was also attended by the Burmese Deputy Home Minister and Director General of the General Administration.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Brig. Gen. Phone Swe advised GA officials to build trust and win the respect of ethnic people in their respective regions and to prepare for joining a political party.

Director General Myat Ko also informed the ‘District Peace and Development Council’ (DPDC) Chairmen and ‘Township Peace and Development Council’ Chairmen to thoroughly scrutinize before giving recommendations to establishment of social organizations and to make office expenses frugally.

The DPDC and TPDC are under the jurisdiction of the Home Ministry’s GA Department. While most Chairmen of DPDC has military backgrounds, a few are selected from the civilians and there are a total of 62 districts in the Burmese administration.

Divisional and State level PDC are controlled and are under the charge of the commander of the military regional command in their respective regions.

Did Than Shwe’s Grandson Kidnap Model?

The Rangoon rumor-mill is frequently active, but this might be the juiciest story for years—a soap opera-style plot involving Than Shwe’s grandson, a celebrity model, a jealous ex-boyfriend and a sordid kidnapping.

Sources close to Burmese celebrities told The Irrawaddy that rumors have spread like wildfire around Rangoon in the last two weeks that Snr-Gen Than Shwe’s favorite grandson, Nay Shwe Thway Aung (the thorn in the middle), 17, helped a friend, Aung Myo, kidnap his ex-girlfriend, celebrity model Wut Hmone Shwe Yee (in turquoise).

The two allegedly abducted Wut Hmone Shwe Yee from an unknown location in mid-December and drove her to Nay Shwe Thway Aung’s house in Hlaing Thayar Township where they held her for three days.

The teenage model’s friends apparently attempted to contact her during that time but could not locate her.

According to tabloid journals in Rangoon, model Wut Hmone Shwe Yee is currently the girlfriend of Burmese Hip-Hop star Sai Sai Khan Hlaing. Last year, a YouTube video clip of Sai Sai Khan Hlaing and Wut Hmone Shwe Yee was popular among Burma’s young internet users.

Private journals and magazines in Burma were reportedly refused permission by the Burmese censorship board to publish photos of the model for at least a week in late December after rumors of her kidnapping spread, according to members of the journalist community in Rangoon.

Rangoon-based Weekly Eleven published an interview with Wut Hmone Shwe Yee in its December 31 edition. However, no mention of any abduction was made.

Sources in Rangoon told The Irrawaddy that Wut Hmone Shwe Yee has taken out a lawsuit against Aung Myo. Nay Shwe Thway Aung has reportedly provided a lawyer for his friend.

Wut Hmone Shwe Yee declined to comment on the issue when The Irrawaddy contacted her by phone on Thursday, saying she was too busy.

Nay Shwe Thway Aung is currently studying at Yangon Institute of Technology in Rangoon and is known to be Than Shwe’s first and favorite grandson. He has often appeared in Burma’s state-run media alongside his dictator-grandfather at state ceremonies and on trips.

However, Nay Shwe Thway Aung is no stranger to controversy. In October, reports circulated that he had used influence to get his girlfriend, model Nay Chi Lin Let (Left in white), enrolled in Institute of Medicine 1 in Rangoon.

Nay Shwe Thway Aung was also implicated in a drug scandal in Rangoon last May. Two of his friends, Burmese tycoon Maung Weik and a son of Lt-Gen Ye Myint, Aung Zaw Ye Myint, were arrested after a member of the Than Shwe family found some pills—thought to be ecstasy—on Nay Shwe Thway Aung’s person.

Maung Weik and Aung Zaw Ye Myint were charged with procuring and selling drugs.

Than Shwe’s son, Thant Zaw Shwe, was also at the center of a scandal in recent years when rumors spread that he was involved with certain Burmese celebrities and models.

This is not the first time a kidnapping plot has been associated with the families of Burma’s powerful military elite. In the late 1990s, rumors spread that Gen Ne Win’s favorite grandson, Kyaw Ne Win, and his friends had kidnapped Nandar Aye, a daughter of junta No 2 Vice Snr-Gen Maung Aye.

A few years later, in early 2002, Ne Win’s grandsons and his son-in-law were arrested and charged with treason.

“Sometimes, government intelligence services produce rumors as tactics of psychological warfare,” said a journalist in Rangoon who spoke on condition of anonymity. “Sometimes rumors come from rival groups among the ruling hierarchies.”

Detained Hip Hop singer Yan Yan Chan released

Chiang Mai (Mizzima) – The Burmese military junta authorities on Tuesday released popular Hip Hop singer Yan Yan Chan, who was arrested in April 2008.

The popular singer was released on Tuesday evening by the western district court in the notorious Insein prison in Rangoon after the judge during the court session ordered his release, a lawyer close to the singer's family said.

"The judge ordered his release and so he was freed yesterday evening," the lawyer said.

The lawyer, however, said he is not aware of the charges against the singer and the reasons for his release.

"As far as I understand, he [Yan Yan Chan] was charged in a drug related crime but I am not sure what the charges exactly were. I have not been able to speak to him yet," the lawyer, who requested anonymity, told Mizzima.

When contacted, Yan Yan Chan's family members confirmed his released but refused to elaborate.

Yan Yan Chan was arrested in early April 2008, while staying at his friend's residence in Monywa town in upper Burma.

Yan Yan Chan along with Kyaw Kyaw (alias) Zeya Thaw, was arrested in February 2008 for his political activities and for being a member of the 'Generation Wave (GW)'. He co-founded the first Burmese hip hop band the 'Acid'.
