The Genitals Burning Case

Paung Gyi Police Station, Hle'Gu , Yangon

The 22 year old labourer Ko Zaw Latt was arrested and during the interrogation sessions his genitals were burned. He is still in Insein Prison.

Hle'Gu Police Station

It is preparing to prosecute Ko Zaw Latt under a section of Act 6/1, 436, for destroying public property.

Engineer Battalions 605 and 337

A group of workers was hired to build roads for these troops.

Engineer Battalion 963, Ming Gone, Hle'Gu, Yangon

There was a fire in this office on April 28, at around 4 am.

Sergeant Soe Lwin, Sergeant Aung Khin Saw and Aung Cho Oo (a) Ashay Gyi

They were officials in charge, who were supervising the workers. Aung Cho Oo, was known to have sold fuel he stole from the office.

Both these men and the officials from Hle'Gu Police Station are pressing the civilian workers to plead guilty of the arson attack on the burnt office.

U Aung Naing, Warrant Officer, Military Construction Unit

He was negotiating with the workers' leaders to arrange for Ko Zaw Latt to have a lighter sentence, if he agreed to admit to being drunk and burning the office.

The Military Authorities

To show who has the power, the authorities are withholding the wages they owed to all the road building workers.
